		Tiernan was an outfielder for the Giants during their first run to glory that climaxed with back to back World Series in 1888 and 1889.
		Tiernan's 310 batting average and 463 slugging average are outstanding marks for a player who hit dead balls and place him in 8th and 9th place on the New York Giants all-time hitting team.
		Mike Tiernan was also a player who should be recognized for his loyalty to his team.
