  Mike Zeck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1949 to Michael and Kathryn Jean Zeck.
He attended the Ringling School of Art, and began his comics career in 1974 doing illustration assignments for the text stories in Charlton Comics’ animated line of comics, which led to work on their horror titles.
In 1977, Zeck started working for Marvel Comics by doing fill-in work on Master of Kung Fu, and has since worked on such titles as Aquaman, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Green Lantern, Captain America, G.I. Joe, Lobo, and Deathstroke, The Terminator.

Mike Zeck drew some of the best stories of the 1980s for Marvel and DC Comics, such as the 'Kraven's Last Hunt' series in 'Spider-man', the 'Punisher' limited series and 'Secret Wars'.
Zeck worked together with Steven Grant on 'Damned' for Homage in 1997.

Mike Zeck nicely compliments the low-key and very ground-level vibe of the book with his realistically detailed pencils.
Zeck also does a nice job of using spiders and rats as symbols, respectively, of Spider-Man and Vermin.
Zeck and DeMatteis also do a wonderful job of portraying Parker's mind as he lays buried beneath the earth.

Mike Zeck is one of those creators where even if you don't recognize his name, you'd surely recognize the work.
One of the legends of the industry, some of Zeck's most notable projects include Master of Kung-Fu, a three-year run on Captain America, fan-favorite Kraven's Last Hunt and Punisher miniseries, and a number of covers on such books as G.I. Joe, among many other works.

03-05-2004 01:23 AM I like traditional comic art, so for my money, Dillion and Mike Zeck are perfect.
What makes Dillion so interesting is his talent looks like it should be drawing something cute, but instead he's depicting murder and meyham.
It's hard not to like Mike Zeck and Jim Lee's work on the character.

It's only too bad that Zeck was fired from the Limited Series of Punisher books before he completed work on the final issue, since we missed out on another brilliant issue of top-notch Zeck work on the Punisher.
Included in this adventure are several signature Punisher situations: Frank mowin' down criminals, Frank mowin' down some more criminals, lotsa of angst and rage, Vietnam flashbacks, and the final one-on-one "fight" where our fave homicidal maniac goes by his own rules and does the unexpected to attain dark victory.
Underrated penciler/ co-colorist Mike Zeck's art (with finishing touches by inker John Beatty and wonderful pre-PhotoShop-era coloration) is top-notch.
