She appears as soloist both in UK and abroad, is often heard on BBC radio and as a freelance player she works with leading symphony and chamber orchestras, in particular the BBC Philharmonic, the Halle Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Sinfonia and the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford.

She has given numerous world and UK premieres and has inspired contemporary composers to write for her, among them Richard Rodney Bennett, Antal Dorati, Carl Davis, Jindrich Feld, Edwin Roxburgh, Robert Saxton, Ole Schmidt, and Robert Simpson and Cecilia McDowall.
Susan Milan is often featured on the BBC and has recorded concertos and recitals for the Chandos label.

Named in honor of the Slovak astronomer Milan Antal {1935-1999}, on the staff of the observatories at Skalnaté Pleso {see planet (2619)} and Hurbanovo for over 38 years.
Known as an excellent observer of comets and minor planets, Antal determined accurate photographic astrometric positions by the thousand.
He is a founder member and vice president of the General Stefánik Society, founded in 1989 in honor of Milan Rastislav Stefánik (1880-1919), some time assistant at the Meudon Observatory.

Milan Antal (Skalnaté Pleso Observatory) had taken an interest in this comet during late May and had acquired a number of observations through the end of June.
When he next observed the comet on July 6.88 (UT), he found the comet was at a visual magnitude of 5.6.

On a recent foray into the darker recesses of the stacks, I came upon a novel that exemplifies this sense of elsewhereness to perfection.
This is the Hungarian author Antal Szerb's "Journey by Moonlight," which first came out in Budapest in 1937 and has only recently made its appearance in English (Pushkin Press, 238 pages, $12.95), in an elegant translation by Len Rix.
