		July -- French aviator Louis Bleriot, flying the "Bleriot XI," makes the first flight across the English Channel in a heavier-than-air craft.
		Traveling at an average speed of 36 miles per hour, Bleriot covered the 23-mile distance in 37 minutes.
		Lindbergh took off from Roosevelt Field on Long Island, New York on May 20 and landed at Le Bourget Field in Paris 33 hours and 30 minutes later.

		For my opinion, the award of 207-minute ETOPS criterion for B777 aircraft, is one of the milestones in aviation history as the entry of the new millenium took place.
		Piston engines used in the early days of commercial aviation, were less reliable than today's modern turbine engines.
