	Portland 2000 party plans being made
		Around the world, events planners and travel agents have circled their calendars in preparation for the millennium.

		Following last years win at Whitecraigs Bowling Club in their Millennium Trophy competition Giffnock were again represented by the same four who were successful in the inaugural event and returned once again with the trophy.
		The ladies of Giffnock were invited to the Kirkhill Bowling Club Triples and having played thoughout the event without losing a game brought the trophy back to Giffnock for the first time.
		This year in defence of the trophy they again come from behind and with a win on the last game again by 10-0 they won the trophy for the second time but with a little more to spare winning by 2 points.

		On Sunday 10th July, our millennium singles team competed in their first ever semi-final against Stonehouse at Eddlewood BC.
		On Wednesday 6th July, one of senior rinks were successful in winning the Wishaw Press Trophy at Houldsworth to land the club its first piece of external silverware for 2005!!!!

		Three North Roaders completed the Aylesbury CC 21 mile circuit time trial on a quiet but rolling course near Milton Keynes on Bank Holiday Monday.
		Alan Harvey (Leigh's dad) rode well in the windy conditions to finish in 56.22, followed by Chris Glithero in 57.08.
		This was event 7 of the North London Millennium Trophy competition.
