 Di-enzymatic chewable dentifrice - Patent 4564519
The di-enzymatic dentifrice of this invention may advantageously be formulted with an aminohexose as, for example, an aminoglucose such as glucosamine, N-acetyl glucosamine or mixtures thereof in order to increase the yield or accumulation of the hypothiocyanate ion.
The aminoglucose is generally present in the dentifrice in an amount from about 0.0001 to about 0.002 millimole per gram of dentifrice and, preferably, in an amount from about 0.0003 to about 0.001 millimole per gram of dentifrice.
Since water promotes the oxidation/reduction reactions of this invention and is also a reactant in certain reactions, the use of water in formulating the dentifrice compositions should be at a relatively low concentration level in order to impart maximum stability and shelf life to the compositions.

 Calculate potassium-40 activity
A rather inclusive expression, available in a paper by Larsson and others accounts for height, weight, and age; two equations are given, one for men and the other for women.
Note that 4,625 millimoles represents 181 grams; if we had used the above estimate by Cohn of 2.52 g/kg, we would have obtained 197 grams as our estimated potassium content.
The two equations above can be easily adjusted to yield potassium-40 content by evaluating the number of pCi of potassium-40 contained in one millimole of total potassium, and multiplying the TBK by this value.

One reason why cranberries are so healthy, is because of their high antioxidant content (3,13 millimoles per 100g).
Now we know that these berries are not only a good source of antioxidants (2,87 millimoles per 100g serving), but are also high in vitamin C. Ask your grocery store if they stock fresh or frozen raspberries, and use them in fruit salads, deserts or eat them with yoghurt for breakfast.
Apart from the high antioxidant content (2,68 millimoles per serving) there is also preliminary evidence that berries can thwart cholesterol and help prevent liver cancer.

Human beings can survive on as little as one gram of salt (sodium chloride) each day, equivalent to about 20 millimoles of sodium (a millimole is another way of expressing an amount of sodium or other mineral.
It provides a useful way of being able to compare the biological equivalence of different minerals - for example a millimole of sodium is equivalent to a millimole of potassium, or chloride).
It is common for Australian adults to consume 8 to 12 grams of salt per day (about 160 to 240 millimoles sodium).

Janet Drake and Jeanne Becker of the University of South Florida College of Medicine treated ovarian cancer cells in vitro with varying doses of aspirin, which has been shown in previous studies to inhibit ovarian, breast and colon cancer cell growth.
Low doses of aspirin, measured at one millimole per liter, had little effect on cell growth, but doses of five millimoles per liter retarded cancer cell growth by 68%.
It is not clear exactly how aspirin inhibits cancer cell growth, but the researchers hypothesized that aspirin may work by reducing levels of cyclooxygenase, an enzyme often found in high concentrations in colon, breast and stomach cancers.
