The Million Man March was an African American March of protest and unity convened by Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan in Washington, DC on October 16, 1995.
Many fls and liberal whites were critical or ambivalent about the March due to some of the more controversial figures associated with it (such as Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, criticized as racist, sexist and anti-Semitic) and Many considered the male-only event sexist.
March organizers estimated the Crowd Size at between 1.5 and 2 Million people, while the United States Park Police estimated the Crowd Size at 400,000.

However, the march went forward as planned and out of it later emerged the passing of the voting rights and public accommodations bills of 1965 and 1966.

I think that the Million Man March was not only beneficial to the fl man and the fl community, but to the entire country as a whole.
I was aware of the march for about one year and didn't hear very many negative things about it, but a couple of weeks before the march I began to hear alot of negative opinions coming from fls and whites.
The Black man has been through alot in life I agree, but thats over, The white people of today don't grow up being taught to disrespect the Black community, But the Black man is still blaming the white people for their problems, and teaching this to each other all over the country.

The minister claims to be passionate about the education of kids, yet does not know where 26.8 million are and apparently doesn’t care; has others taking care of 6,288,000 on her behalf and no word of gratitude for the assistance.
So, the 6.4 million were not really her direct responsibility except in the area of setting national policy and establishing minimum standards.
