Millport is a project to develop a MUD, or multi-user game, or (*shudder*) MMORPG, with a graphical interface instead of a text-mode interface.
The current millport is a single threaded, classic MUD-type event processing engine.

March 3, 2003 - Weyerhaeuser Company yesterday said it is discontinuing plywood production at its Millport, Ala., wood products facility effective immediately due to declining markets for plywood panels and local log supply issues.
The Millport plywood operation, which has been shut down since Feb. 20 because of local log supply issues, had the capacity to produce 224 million square feet of softwood plywood annually.
Following the closure, the company has the capacity to produce 2.5 billion square feet of softwood plywood and veneer annually at 16 North American operations.

The staff at Largs are friendly and the ferries do seem to run punctually and in almost any weather, making this a highly reliable service, and the start of an enjoyable trip to the very hospitable cycling isle of Cumbrae and town of Millport.
There was also in Summer 2000/2001 an open top tour bus, every 45 minutes from 9.45 at Millport Pier (no 12.45 run), 15 minutes to Cumbrae Slip, then running round the west side of the island; last trip 16.30 to Cumbrae Slip only.
March 4th 2001: The nearly unsignposted toilets in the free car park at Cumbrae Slip are spotless and fresh, though the disabled toilet at the back was locked for some reason.
