Milo Kerrigan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Milo Kerrigan is a fictional boxer created and played by Australian comedian Shaun Micallef on the Australian sketch show Full Frontal.
Milo Kerrigan, also known as "The Brownish Bomber", is supposedly a heavyweight champion who has experienced 27 knockouts through his career, as well as the 3 that he inflicted on his opponents and has had his face horribly disfigured due to all the blows he has had in the face.
Milo has written his own song ("Faffernoiby"), performed it in a Bob Dylan style video clip, had his own clothing line, two movies, and was a frequent guest on Phil's and Parko's good sports as well as an etiquette show.

Lowdermilk and Kerrigan (who also contributed additional lyrics) bring these moments, and others, vibrantly to life in a score that incorporates a range of styles from classical musical theatre to hip-hop to Jason Robert Brown rock-show tunes.
This is just a concert presentation - the actors carry their scripts - and has been directed by Kerrigan with suggestive staging at best and almost no sets (a few chairs, a bench, and so on).

 Encyclopedia: Shaun Micallef
Gary McCaffrie is an Australian television comedy writer and producer, best known for his work on Fast Forward and Full Frontal, and his many collaborations with comedian Shaun Micallef.
After early TV appearances on Theatre Sports, The Big Gig and Jimeoin, Shaun joined the cast of Full Frontal where his lunatic characters such as Milo Kerrigan, Nobby Doldrums, David McGhan and Roger Explosion, and his infamous send-ups of Italian male model Fabio, reigned supreme for three years.
This led to his own 1996 special Shaun Micallef's World Around Him and, from 1998, three seasons of the award-winning The Micallef Program, which he co-wrote and produced with long-time writing partner Gary McCaffrie.

Nor, thankfully, did Micallef rely heavily on a stable of characters (you hear me, Mark Mitchell?), and those few that did recur were used well and sparingly.
The second disc consists of compilations of characters from 'Full Frontal': all of the episodes of Roger Exposion: Secret Agent, Milo Kerrigan's sports reports and David McGahan's World, and they're funny as hell.
McGahan's mix of sheer incompetence and spirally absurdity works very well, and while the Kerrigan sketches might consist of nothing but smashing up the set, it's still some damn impressive smashing.

My only criticism of this DVD is it seems to pander a bit too much to popular tastes rather than offer a full range of examples of Micallef's talent.
This is a great DVD - not just for Micallef fans but those who love a their comedy a little off centre.
