Milton, John (poet) - Hutchinson encyclopedia article about Milton, John (poet)
Milton's early poems have a baroque luxuriousness, a rich and sensuous use of imagery and cadence, while his later works are more sober, the blank verse more measured in its mixture of classical and English diction.
News of the impending conflict in England between king and Parliament took him home the following year, and his return may be seen as closing the first of three well-marked divisions into which his life falls.
Milton's verse is not always the ‘organ voice’ for which he is notorious; it is a flexible medium, capable of great precision and subtlety.

One of the paradoxes of New Zealand's experience is that the Revolution enjoyed substantial political support during the period that the GDP was stagnant and unemployment high; once economic growth recovered -- indeed, skyrocketed -- and unemployment dropped to record lows, its political support declined.
It took New Zealand less than a decade to transform itself from the basket case of the OECD to its fastest-growing economy, from a nation teetering on the brink of bankruptcy to a nation that is reasonably healthy by fiscal standards, from a nation with high unemployment to a nation with low unemployment.
New Zealand in 1984 was in a unique situation, and it had nearly unique characteristics that enabled it to embrace the Revolution.
