Milton Railway Station Campaign - Proposals
Once a station opens, they are unlikely to drive the couple of miles to Waterbeach (which has a good car park) when they could drive just half a mile to Milton station.
This is clearly not sufficient to support a major station, but we believe it could justify a station similar to that at Waterbeach (which has a population of under 6,000), just a few miles down the road.
In 1999, 5 new stations opened and according to the RDS, there are proposals to open 10-12 new stations in 2000 and a further 8-10 in 2001.

New Milton Police Station comprises the station, which was formerly a domestic residence and two houses which are in the process of conversion to offices to accommodate the Sub-Divisional Headquarters.
Application has been made to the Home Office for approval to carry out development of this police station which will enable this floor to be brought back into use and for additional accommodation to be constructed.
As a consequence of a recent structural survey, conducted by the County Architect, it has been found that the floor joists on the second floor are in such poor condition that it has been recommended that the accommodation is withdrawn from use.

Milton Brown and His Musical Brownies began broadcasting on KTAT, a Fort Worth radio station, and playing dances at the Crystal Springs dance hall in Fort Worth.
Jesse Ashlock, Brown's first fiddler, learned fiddling from Wills and had often gone to Wills's dances, where he would sit "right behind Bob and play real low and learn the tunes he played." In other ways Milton Brown took the Wills style beyond the level to which Wills had brought it.

TCS: Tech Central Station - Milton Friedman and The Reimportation Debate
They're going to where the money is. New patents to produce drugs that are copycat drugs or are in a time release form or something like that, which merely extends the outrageous pricing that we have.
Because we are going to have to deal with the way the rest of the world buys health care one way or the other.
The answer that we have given, whether the right answer or the wrong answer, the answer we have given is that it's going to come by giving the producer of the drug a patent, a monopoly privilege to sell that drug, to exclude others from the sale of that drug.

Milton Keynes to South Wales by Stagecoach
Not everybody will have the inclination to travel from Milton Keynes to Wales using regular service buses but if you have the patience and do not mind bus travel then this page illustrates just how far a Stagecoach Explorer or Goldrider ticket can take you.
It should be possible to buy scratchcard Explorers at Swindon and Gloucester bus stations - also from the Travelshop at 229 High Street, Cheltenham; but note that prices may vary because each Stagecoach region has its own pricing policy.
If this is not convenient you can buy tickets at some travel shops on the outward route (assuming that they are open when you are passing through).

The New Milton and District Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with some of the local town councillors to oppose the decision to downgrade the New Milton Police station, which will be enforced on 1st April 2004.
At the end of the day, all of our members pay rates and, with the size of our town and its surrounding areas (New Milton is the second largest business rate contributor to the government), it would seem logical that we should be allowed the same level of police support as other comparable areas.
