Bradley was born in Vienna, Maine, in 1836 and moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, at the age of 19.
Milton Bradley continued as the driving force behind his company until his death in 1911, when direction of the firm was assumed by Ralph Ellis, to eventually be passed on to Bradley's son-in-law, Robert Ingersoll, and George Tapley's son, William.
Milton Bradley was a latecomer into this market in 1977 with the release of "Simon," an electronic game similar in concept to the old parlour game "Simon Says," in which players tried to imitate the electronically generated pattern of tones and lights of a table top unit.
