Takayama was looking for someone to teach her how to compose music using a synthesizer when she was introduced to Nagano through a common friend.
This was near the end of Takayama's stint as a member of the indies band "RE-X".
Nagano was apparently quite impressed with Takayama's talents as a composer, and the two formed a band called "ES CONNEXION" which consisted of Nagano (a.k.a.

Her birth name is actually Izumi Arai, but along the way she decided to change it to Takayama Minami, and she is often referred to merely as Minami.
Takayama's soulful singing voice, a voice that made her popular and respected as a seiyuu for her emotional roles, and Nagano's touching lyrics proved an instant hit in Japan; Just Communication soon found itself the opening song for Gundam Wing.
In 2000, Takayama and Nagano concentrated their efforts on the Infinity Project, a compilation of dance tracks such as remixes of Rhythm Emotion and Lupin III tunes.

Dilandau is not the first male role Takayama voiced for; her amazing voice enables her to do a wide range of voices, be they male or female.
It did not take long for Takayama to become one of Japan's leading voice actors her most popular roles to date are Dilandau in both Vision of Escaflowne and A Girl in Gaea, Tendou Nabiki in Ranma 1/2 and Kiki in Kiki's Delivery Service.

Since the concert was already a half-hour late, Conan grabbed a nearby mic and lyrics and tried to imitate Minami Takayama...
His voice matched hers perfectly (because in RL Minami voices Conan!), but unfortunately Shinichi (and thus Conan) can't carry a tune in a bucket.
Fortunately, Minami arrived in time to save him from total embarassment.
