  Inside Outliners
In both MORE and MindWrite, the outliner and the other parts of the program work together to make a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
And MindWrite text breaks either according to the margins set by the ruler or at the edge of the window, depending on which option you choose.
On the other hand, MindWrite has an editing feature I believe is unique: if you want to turn a section of your outline into a separate outline, or to reorganize what you have, you can select any combination of noncontiguous topics and cut, copy, or move them.

Can I network one old mac with new emac? | Applefritter
I use the 68K machine and this MindWrite software as a sort of typewriter, then email plain text documents to myself for formatting on an emac.
What I hope to do is sit at the eMac and operate the Mindwrite program through a connection to the eMac (running Classic), very much as I did years ago when I connected a Powerbook Duo 230 to the Mac TV.
You may be able to run MindWrite on the emac using an emulator like vMac, though it would require mounting and unmounting disk image files to transfer files from the emulator's images to a folder on the eMac for formatting and editing.

You have covered two ways to selectively show portions of an outline (hiding and folding), but not the very important third--the ability to show only entries containing a particular character string.
MindWrite had this in a rather clunky way.
InControl had it beautifully implemented, with settable options of how to handle parents/children of the selected entries.

Now we rely on continued access to computer files for the viability of our archives.
When a software company disappears or abandons a product it is easy to understand that one might lose that access, and I have some archived files that I can no longer open because the software that made them no longer runs on my computer (I still miss MindWrite and Thought Pattern).
However, it is regrettable that one can also lose access to archived files simply by "upgrading" superceded software to a current version.
