  Manic Miner for Windows
Manic Miner (the original or my version) is no match for Quake, you cannot meet Lara Croft there, and it doesn't have Napalm Strikes, as Worms 2 has.
Believe it or not, I started working on my remake of Manic Miner on 1992 (which means it took me 7 years!!!) It was right after I had the pleasure of playing it on my PC using the PJPP emulator program.
Note that the walkthrough video is of the original Manic Miner game (but the Windows version is so accurate that if you do the same, you'll get the same), and also that the video is quite long - a little over 23 minutes.

Willy's Miner Nightmare   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Obviously, news that a high-profile character like Willy is about to desert all he has worked for to retire back to the country life, has stirred up rather a lot of public interest.
With this in mind, Willy grabs his miners cap and decides to take an alternative route back to the countryside, utilising the mansions many back passages (oo-er!) and secret entrances.
Willys Miner Nightmare was written using The Games Factory by Europress, with the graphical assistance of Paint Shop Pro, and The Spectrum Graphics Editor by Richard Jordan.

Miner Willy’s in the catacombs below Surbiton (as dug by Tom and Barbara Good while chasing their goat one Sunday afternoon) and can’t go back the way he came.
But there’s a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel (the 3:58pm London to Birmingham, methinks): if Willy can conquer the 60 caves (three sets of 20) that stand in his way, peaceful Surbiton life will be his once more.

The story line is as weak as ever - some nonsense about Willy having thrown a party and the guests having left lots of champagne glasses strewn about his mansion (altered slightly in the production version).
It's worthwhile just having a wander around to get a feel for the way Miner Willy handles; for example, you can get Willy to hang precariously to a surface by what looks like a single pixel before making that important leap - and in some cases that's exactly what you'll have to do.
Most of the objects cached in Jet Set Willy are attainable, but there are some which, even when working from carefully scaled maps of each room, seem impossible to retrieve without sacrificing a life.

Manic Miner, in particular, was a stunningly good quality game for its day, and took the world by storm; it created a huge demand for a sequel, which eventually arrived in the form of Jet-Set Willy (JSW).
The launch of Jet-Set Willy II really drew the saga to a close, as it was merely an upgraded version of the previous game, with a larger map.
The new version was written by a different author (Matthew Smith having apparently vanished off the face of the earth), and the magic had been lost; the new game didn't play as well as the old, and the new rooms seemed dull by comparison with the originals.
