		The first three of this class completed between 1971 and 1979, one of which was later scrapped after a fire.
		The program was thought to have terminated in 1992, but in fact it accelerated to 2 units per year from 1993 before terminating in 1996.
		The 16th unit of this class was delivered in May 1997, and deployed to the South China Sea in June 1998.
