Operators usually control the minicabs they use by means of radios, and a common term for them is (radio) circuit operators.
London minicab users should have the same assurance about protection from rape or robbery, about dangerous driving or unsafe vehicles, which is generally available to people outside London.
Annex 1 lists the main provisions of the law on minicab regulation outside London; it also says something about how that law is often applied by local licensing authorities, and further suggests some detailed provisions which might be included in the legislation for London minicab regulation.

The 5th generation Minicab released in 1991 adopted a completely redesigned body and took full advantage of the new tax regulations by increasing the wheelbase and upgrading the engine capacity from 550cc to 660cc.

From 1 December, any minicab drivers caught illegally touting for business will be fingerprinted and have their DNA recorded on the national criminal database.
