 Minimal-Cut Model Composition
Constructing new, complex models is often done by re-using parts of existing models, typically by applying a sequence of segmentation, alignment and composition operations.
Our tool obtains as input two models, aligned either manually or automatically, and a small set of constraints indicating which portions of the two models should be preserved in the final output.
Note that in each step, multiple models (e.g., the four legs, the six back rests) were treated as one model and composed in a single step with an additional model (e.g., the seat).

4 Other Formulations of Complexity   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
The topological complexity described by Crutchfield [3], is a measure of the size of the minimal computational model (typically a finite automaton of some variety) in the minimal formal language in which it has a finite model.
Thus the complexity of the model is both `objectivised' by considering only minimal models but also related to the fixed hierarchy of formal languages.
This, of course, does not completely eliminate the inherent subjective effects in the process of modelling (principally the language of modelling), and obscures the interplay of complexity, specificity and the error involved.

How to Add a Child Window to a PythonCard Application   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
We create a minimal window object uisng the childWindow function and give it the name minimalWindow by passing two parameters to the function: the parent window (self), and the background class (minimal.Minimal) we want to use.
That is all is needed to create a minimal window object, but at this point, it is still hidden and not much good to us.
Notice that we reference components in the child window by a collection of objects starting with the main application (self) and then pointing first to the child window, then to its components property, then to the specific component, then to the property of that component we wish to change.

 [No title]
Since what may be deduced is what holds in every model of the axioms, enlarging the set of assumptions restricts the set of acceptable models and thus increases the set of deducible consequences.
Important examples of intended models are the minimal, stable, and supported models associated with different semantics for logic programming, and, by translation, with the semantics for various other systems.
The basic characterization results are stated in Theorem~\ref{thm.min} for minimal model classes, Theorems~\ref{thm.stab1}, \ref{thm.stab2}, and \ref{thm.stab3} for stable model classes (in different forms), and Theorem~\ref{thm.supp} for supported model classes.

Developing of rational homotopy theory, in particulary minimal Sullivan model approach, showed that the minimal model of the elliptic space gives us complete information on its rational homotopy groups.
In general, it is not clear how the minimal model can effectively be constructed, but we will use here the method proved by Sullivan for constructing minimal models of the free graded differential algebras.
As a result, applying minimal model theory, we obtain explicit formulas on rational homotopy groups for all generalised symmetric spaces.

Minimal Model of Self-Replicating Nanocells: A Physically Embodied Information-Free Scenario
The building of minimal self-reproducing systems with a physical embodiment (generically called protocells) is a great challenge, with implications for both theory and applied sciences.

An example of such a system, modeled with dissipative particle dynamics, is presented here.
