	Hon Marian Hobbs
		Elected to the Cabinet by her Labour Caucus colleagues Marian held the portfolios of Environment, Biosecurity, Broadcasting, the National Library and National Archives.
		She resigned as Minister on February 23, 2001, pending the outcome of two inquiries covering her registration on the Wellington Central electoral roll and the circumstances surrounding her claim for allowances during the previous Parliament.

		Today the Prime Minister identified that, from the $1 billion for the second phase of the Natural Heritage Trust, about $350 million of that will be channelled directly into water quality projects, to improve water quality.
		The Prime Minister says that he's been very happy with the way Cabinet's Committee on Science and Research, that type of thing, has worked.
		It might be a way to deal with some of those problems that we've seen over the past couple of years, where there've been quite a few barneys apparently, within the Cabinet room, between the Agriculture Minister and the Environment Minister over issues like land clearing.
