In 1964 the first three and the MOD were amalgamated, and the defence functions of the Ministry of Aviation Supply (as it had by then become) were absorbed in 1971, when the MOD took over responsibility for supplying military aircraft and guided weapons.

The Canadian Mutual Aid Board which administered the supply of materiel consisted of the Minister of Munitions and Supply, the Minister of National Defence, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture, and the Minister of Justice acting as a committee of the Privy Council for Canada.
This was followed by the entry of the United States into the war in December 1941, and major U.S. infrastructure projects (such as the building of military bases and the construction of the Alaska Highway), which together contributed to a rebuilding of Canada's foreign exchange reserves.
However, these continued to be supplied to the United Nations forces and then post-war Canada and the United Nations organisation U.N.R.R.A. gifted new and refurbished vehicles to various countries for their own forces or for infrastructure repairs, It is not know whether the U.N. paid the Canadian Government for these vehicles or not.
