Star Wars was important to me and I wanted to protect its integrity so I reserved the sequel rights so that I could control the future of Star Wars.
George Lucas: The only character from the old films that has to be in the sequels is Luke Skywalker.
In regards to the possibility of a Star Wars TV series, it would be appreciated if the series started from the beginning & moved along from year to year until it reaches "The Phantom Menace." Then maybe there could be 5 feature length TV movies for the time in between the 2 trilogies.

Where Batman: The Animated series showed a Gotham City with a 40's noir vibe, we now see a Gotham with a future sci-fi noir look similar to the cities in films like Bladerunner and the Japanese animated classic Akira.
Unlike past Batman cartoons where the characters were drawn to look like they fit in our world, the characters and world of Batman: The Animated Series were drawn with a specifically cartoony look to them.
The series started a short time in the future with an older Bruce Wayne still acting as Batman but using a powered suit to help compensate for his aging muscles.

Guardian 'I'm a decent, jolly fat guy'
Sometimes Spall is so accomplished that it becomes painful to watch his characters, invariably their own worst enemies, stumble from one monumentally bad judgment to another.
Now these social pariahs, likable idiots and minor heroes of their own suburban realm have been collected together for Spall's first retrospective, at the Cambridge film festival.
A little further into the future is the latest film from Leigh, but Spall cannot say too much about it, even if he wanted to.

Except for his neighbor in room 2046, a beautiful prostitute who has captivated his imagination…so much as Chow is ready to follow her in the future where people travel to regain their lost memories.
In 2046, however, it all feels a bit too chaotic, the little pieces that typically hold Kar Wai Wong's films together are scattered, the time we are given to spend with each of the women Chow encounters insufficient.
Populated with stunningly beautiful women, gamblers, and plenty of shady characters Chow's world is indeed the perfect setting for a film which follows anything but a rational storyline.

The Imperial March - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The "Imperial March" theme appears scarcely in the prequel trilogy, but is often used to hint at Anakin Skywalker's future as Darth Vader.
One of the best known symphonic movie themes, it is a classic example of a leitmotif, a recurrent theme associated with characters or events in a drama.
The theme has some rhythmical similarities with the well known funeral march from Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2 in B flat Minor.
