Topic: Minor characters in Teen Titans (animated series)

loonyblog.: The blog post of the review of The Batman.
Although I was initially quite scared by the prospect of a new Batman series, seeing a quick teaser for The Batman at this year's San Diego Comic Con convinced me that it might not be all together awful, and in fact might be pretty good.
Fortunately the animation is of a higher grade than most anime, and while there are action lines a' plenty, you won't find people standing perfectly still for extended periods of time with only their mouths moving.
I'm not sure how long this series is going to hold my attention, because while it is good, it has yet to establish itself as the sort of high-grade entertainment shown by its predecessors (or for that matter, Justice League Unlimited, which is my favorite of the current crop by far).

Superman Super Site - Justice Leaue Unlimited
It is sometimes considered to be the same series as the original; the first season of Justice League Unlimited is referred to by the producers as the third season of Justice League.
It features a greatly-expanded League, in which the characters from the original series are joined by a number of superheroes (in the first episode, well over 50 characters appear), as well as a number of DC heroes who had made guest appearances in the first two seasons of Justice League.
In the Teen Titans episodes "Lightspeed" and "Titans Together", Kid Flash appears and is voiced by Michael Rosenbaum, indicating that the Teen Titans incarnation of Kid Flash is Wally West.

The Teen Titan's Robin is clearly a teenager.
Because Teen Titans came from some of the same minds behind the other shows, it shares a certain sensibility about using drawing style that the other shows have and it actually went out of its way to blur the whole issue of Robin's identity.

Comic Book Resources - CBR News: TITANS TOGETHER Part Deux: Mike McKone exclusively talks 'Teen Titans'
In part one of CBR News' extensive and exclusive preview of "Teen Titans," coming in July from DC Comics, writer Geoff Johns spoke about his plans for the series and introduced readers to the core concepts permeating this high-profile re-launch.
It's been discussed in the previous Geoff Johns interview and it'll no doubt be discussed further, but the costume changes in "Teen Titans" have caused a lot of controversy among fans, even when the changes have been minor.
Respectfully, Teen Titans fans are known as a demanding and vocal group, second only to perhaps Legion and X-Men fans, and that can be quite daunting for creators tackling any aspect of the Titanverse.

Profiles 08 - The Superhero Cartoon (Mar 1999)
For animation in general, and superhero cartoons specifically, the seventies would represent a tapering off of the slow decline that had afflicted cartoons since the forties.
These cartoons would have, on their side, benefit of the Asian animation industry (who do it better and cheaper, evidently) and improvements in technology that would employ computers as animation tools and greatly aid in the difficult process of drawn cartoons.
The flow of animation strongly suggested the Fleischer Superman cartoons that came and went over fifty years earlier; and Timm's elegant simplified depiction of the characters remained true to the visual aspect of his subjects even while it eliminated the kind of superfluous detail that might render animation difficult.

Her grasp on the characters, for the most part, is right-on and refreshing at times; especially with Black Canary, whose appearance in this issue was definitely one of the high points.
This story is well on its way to setting Arsenal apart from his past with Green Arrow and his fellow Titans, allowing him to finally stand on his own as a major player in the DCU that has been around for almost 57 years.

Animated Views » Superman: Brainiac Attacks
By all appearances, it is a sequel to the much loved Superman: The Animated Series, a show that while not as groundbreaking or influential as its Batman:TAS predecessor, did manage to do a lot of things right.
It borrows the designs for the characters (although Superman looks a little stockier and less long-faced, while Jimmy Olson’s hair is a bit tamer), and brings back some of the rest of the cast (with a couple of woeful exceptions); but this is clearly set in its very own continuity.
Okay, first of all: If you want to avoid comparisons with the animated series, or present a story in a whole other continuity, then it is awfully dumb to use the same Bruce Timm character designs (with some minor tweaking), and hire the same actors.
