 Articles - Iron Maiden
Two of the tracks on the demo, "Prowler" and "Iron Maiden", went straight to number one on the English metal charts.
Only two new tracks were written for the album; the exciting title track, and the energetic "Murders in the Rue Morgue".
Their first appearance on an album was on the compilation Metal for Muthas (released on 15 February 1980) with two early recordings of "Sanctuary" and "Wrathchild".

 Review: Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Powerslave has many great moments that should be getting more attention from the band, because lately, it seems that even the hits and singles of Powerslave (Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnights) are not being played today, when they really should be.
Tracks like Flash of the Blade, Duelists, Aces High, and 2 Minutes to Midnight were my personal favorites.
It’s not that I hate the song or anything, but 13 minutes straight is very hard for me to listen to in one sitting, whether the song is awesome or not.

Doomsday Clock - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Doomsday Clock is alluded to throughout Two Minutes to Midnight, a single from Iron Maiden's album Powerslave.
The clock was started at seven minutes to midnight during the Cold War in 1947, and has subsequently been moved forwards or backwards at intervals, depending on the state of the world and the prospects for nuclear war.
It uses the analogy of the human race being at a time that is a 'few minutes to midnight' where midnight represents destruction by nuclear war, and has appeared on the cover of each issue of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists since its introduction.

This November will be the 20th anniversary of Midnight Love, Marvin Gaye's final album and the centerpiece for his physical and mental decline.
By 1982, the ever so slow to record Gaye was about six months past time to make an album, and the art funk tracks that were left didn't jive with the top 40 at the time.

Detailed Reviews [Moongarden - 2004 - "Round Midnight"] - ProgressoR
Having followed the output of this Italian band, "Round Midnight" is the fourth album in Moongarden's discography.
Two of the nine tracks on the 52-minute "Round Midnight" are very short and are about two minutes in length each: Psychedelic Subway Ride (7), which is the only instrumental piece here, and By the Way (9).
Prior to this, the only MOONGARDEN album I've heard was their second, "Brainstorm of Emptyness" (sic), from eight years ago.

RollingStone.com: Midnight Love : Marvin Gaye : Review
As a comeback album, Marvin Gaye's Midnight Love is remarkably arrogant: it simply picks up from 1973's Let's Get It On as if only ten minutes, and not a confusing ten years, had elapsed since Gaye hit his commercial peak.
On the other hand, Midnight Love is a consequential record, a fact that has something to do with another kind of ambition.
But Midnight Love isn't as truly ambitious a record as Gaye's greatest album, What's Going On (1971), was.

Manowar - Battle Hymns Review - sputnikmusic
Manowar debuted with an assortment of hard-hitting riffs, most notably Metal Daze with the reminiscent vibe of Two Minutes to Midnight and vocals that show not only a divine uniqueness in Eric Adams, but subtle influences from Rob Halford and Black Sabbath.
Notable features from Battle Hymns include the two minute bass solo William's Tale and the 7 minute epic title-track that begins with a soft guitar part soon accompanied by a drum solo, that leads into the elevated 3 minutes before turning into a heavy, rhythmic movement.
Over their career Manowar have come to be respected and laughed at in more or less equal measure, with a frequent response from first time listeners to their music being questions about whether or not the band can be serious.

 The Beast
Their reading of “Powerslave” is seven minutes and twelve seconds of fidelity to the original’s eighties metal heart intersecting brashly with Darkane’s runaway-freight-train-soaring- through-the-Swedish-countryside-after-midnight-with- ten-boxcars-full-of-dynamite-in-tow routine.
Above all, though, there’s the album-closing “Powerslave,” which is not a song I knew prior to getting A Tribute to the Beast, since by the time Powerslave was released in 1984 I had moved on from Iron Maiden to the Sisters of Mercy, trading one somewhat pretentious but terrifically fun working-class English band for another.
Their sound is a combination of bombastic operatic metal, crunching death, melodic Swedish prog-metal, and the sort of idiosyncratic personal touches that usually originate a little further east, in Finland.

 Someweb In Time - 1984
The first single from the "Powerslave" album was probably the best Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith collaboration to date, entitled "Two Minutes to Midnight".
The album was adorned with some impressive artwork (again curtousey of Derek Riggs), inspired by the album's title track, which depicted an Egyptian scene, with Eddie being layed to rest in a Pyramid tomb.
When the band eventually completed their hugely successful "World Piece Tour", they turned their minds to the album that would eventually elevate them to one be of the most successful heavy metal acts ever.

This album is definately a classic, to be remembered as one of Maidens greatest albums to date.
The album was also the first to not have been marked by a lineup change, helping Maiden produce another metal classic.

John J. Miller on Iron Maiden on National Review Online
The second song is one of Iron Maiden's most familiar: "Two Minutes to Midnight." It's an anti-nuke tune whose politics aren't exactly to my liking.
When Iron Maiden fans pick their favorite album, most settle on one of three from the band's heyday in the early 1980s: The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, or Powerslave.
For me, however, what always separated Iron Maiden from other heavy-metal bands were the topics of the songs.

George Harrison - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
His sister, Louise, has said that their mother wrote in her diary that he was born ten minutes after midnight on 25 February, though Harrison subsequently claimed that he had, in fact, been born on 24 February at 11:40 PM.
A media-only single, "Stuck Inside a Cloud", was heavily played on UK radio to promote the album, and the official single "Any Road", released in May 2003, was a Top 40 hit.
Following the former Beatles' release from Capitol at the beginning of that year, the record company was in a position to license releases featuring Beatles and post-Beatles work on the same album, and used Harrison for this unfortunate experiment.
