Apparently, Mir Ali Tabrizi (14th century) developed Nasta'līq by combining two existing scripts of Naskh and Ta'liq.
It is believed that Nasta'līq reached its highest elegance in Mir Emad's works.
The current practice of Nasta'līq is however heavily based on Mirza Reza Kalhor's manner.

QAZVIN, Sept. 3--International seminar to commemorate the renowned Iranian calligraphist, Mir Emad Qazvini, will be held in Qazvin for the first time, announced the director general of the provincial Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department.
Mir Mohammad, who was known as Mir Emad, was the son of Hossein Seifi Qazvini.
Mir Emad was murdered on the orders of Shah Abbas of the Safavid dynasty and was buried in Maqsoud-Beig Mosque in Isfahan's Touqchi Gate.

In this period, famous artists appeared and left masterpieces, for instance Mirza Mohammad Reza Kalhor in pursuance to Mir Emad style generated changes in Nastaligh, which is said to be the result of his efforts.
Yet, in the course of several centuries, such great masters, as Mir Emad and later on, Mirza Qolam Reza Isfahani and Kalhor, followed by Emad-ol-Kottab, who all brought forth considerable developments in Nastaliq, elicited similar reactions from the art experts of their own times.

Mohammadzadeh said that the ceremony to present the Mir Emad Award, which is given once every two years, will be held at the tomb of the great Iranian calligrapher and painter Mir Emad on October 7.
Meanwhile, an exhibit of calligraphy by 25 artists--150 pieces of works by Mirkhani, 50 pieces by Mir Emad and 100 by Qazvini calligraphers--will be inaugurated at Saad Al-Saltaneh compound of Qazvin.
The statue of Mir Emad will be unveiled on a boulevard in Qazvin which is named after the renowned calligrapher.
