 STARTREK.COM : Article
The game takes place in the Original Series Movie era, post-"Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country," focusing primarily on Captain Sulu and the U.S.S. Excelsior as the ship becomes trapped in the Mirror Universe (from the classic TOS episode "Mirror, Mirror") and must accomplish a number of objectives in order to return to our universe.
In the Mirror Universe, death can come, as the evil Chekov states "in a thousand cuts," so rather than pitting large starships against each other in naval-style battles most commonly seen in Star Trek, smaller fighters do the dirty work and players find themselves flying small ships to defend Excelsior from its enemies.
To achieve Star Trek authenticity, the game uses the vocal talents of George Takei as Sulu and Walter Koenig as Chekov, although it would have been nice to hear some orchestral music from the series or films instead of the original synthesized music composed and performed by Barry Fasman and John O'Kennedy.

Star Trek: Nemesis by Jerry Goldsmith
Clocking in at 48:31 (quite lengthy for a Trek score album, but by no means long), Varese Sarabande presents Goldsmith's score in what appears to be chronological order--a nice touch that is rarely found on score albums today (most producers prefer a reordered structure, attempting to make the listening experience more 'balanced').
Long time Trek producer Rick Berman swears another is on the way soon, but I personally don't see Paramount backing another film before financial success is relatively assured.

Star Trek Soundtracks: Mirror, Mirror / By Any Other Name / The Trouble with Tribbles / The Empath
In "Mirror, Mirror," the theme is developed in imitation and inversion to delineate the Jekyll-and-Hyde aspect of this tale of the officers of the Enterprise struggling against their own hostile counterparts from a parallel universe.
In the first place, this is the only Star Trek score with a tune for Scotty, the starship's Chief Engineer; suggestions of his Gaelic extraction can be heard in Fielding's perky, jaunty woodwinds.
It is a parallel or "mirror universe" with everything opposite to the one they know; on this Enterprise, crewmen are punished with "The Agonizer," advancement is through assassination and the mirror-Kirk has a mistress who is very ambitious, but loves her Captain ("Meet Marlena").

 The Cynics Corner: DS9's "Resurrection"
Star Trek has a recurring character who dies or becomes otherwise unavailable for appearances, thus putting the actor portraying that character out of work.
If, after a certain amount of time, that actor is still not making a living wage, Star Trek writers will concoct a half-baked way to bring that character back, thus providing said actor with a much-needed paycheck.
It's possible, perhaps even likely, that DS9's Mirror Universe and Voyager's Holodeck were built into the shows with the specific purpose of making the welfare program work more easily and in a manner less obvious to the average viewer.

The longevity of Star Trek is due in large part to the ideas inherent in the plots.
Social and political messages were embedded in the shows and it was only the cover of a science fiction story that allowed them to be aired on network television at that time.

A gripping Star Trek: The Next Generation tale hearkening back to the original TV series episode, "Mirror, Mirror." That was the one in which Captain Kirk encountered his brutal alter ego in a parallel universe, a place where only the alternative Spock showed any humanity.
As such, it details what has happened in the mirror universe between Kirk's time and that of the later Trek series; unfortunately, her back-history is radically different from that in the canonical DS9 episode.
In the classic Star Trek episode, "Mirror, Mirror," the crew of the original U.S.S. Enterprise crossed the dimensional barrier and found a mirror image of their own universe, populated by nightmare duplicates of their crewmates.
