Bukidnon is bounded by Misamis Oriental on the north and northwest, Agusan del Sur and Davao on the east, North Cotabato on the south; and by Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur on the west.

In 1928, Gregorio Pelaez, a farmer from Eastern Misamis District, was elected as the Governor of the Province of Misamis.
