The Miss Hong Kong Pageant (香港小姐競選 or simply 港姐), or simply MHK, is a beauty pageant organised by the television station TVB.
All participants must have a valid Hong Kong identity card or must be born in Hong Kong (with a valid birth certificate).
In recent years, the pageant has been split into two televised events, a semi-final and a separate final show, with 20 contestants (selected from thousands through interviews) in the semi-final and 12 in the final.

Miss Hong Kong Pageant has now become a star search, rather than finding someone representing Hong Kong, so I don't think it would be a great loss if this rumor were true.
Miss Malaysia should have gotten at least second runner-up, she has the whole package, and her overall performance was great--interview, swimsuit, talent.
There was a missing piece in the MHK chair last year, there were two different metal bars connecting one side to the other, last year there was only one, a sign that TVB is running out of money or TVB employees are being less attentive these days...

i watch the miss hk pageant thing every year, and it gets worse and worse every year...they come up with the most stupidiest and perverted questions (not talking about the hosts, cuz i dont think the hosts come up with the questions...).
