The General Assembly Council has approved the most radical restructuring of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s mission program since 1993, as it moves to reduce the 2007-2008 General Assembly mission budget by $9.15 million.
Staff cuts in Louisville account for $4 million of the budget reduction, while the price tag for the overseas mission positions is $1.2 million.
In all, 75 national staff positions in Louisville have been eliminated — most effective May 1 — as well as 55 overseas mission co-worker positions.

 Jet Airways to expand fleet, new destinations abroad
Mumbai: Jet Airways yesterday (Sept 27, 2005) announced its decision to expand its fleet by inducting ten 737 Boeing aircraft on key domestic routes, ten airbus 330 aircraft for Asian and European destinations and ten Boeing 777 aircraft for longer haul destinations, including UK and USA.
Jet Airways has ordered ten Boeing 737 next generation aircraft for delivery between March 2006 and October 2007 and the airline would additionally lease three Boeing 737 aircraft to support domestic operations, Goyal told shareholders.
Addressing the 13th annual general body meeting of the airline and the first AGM after IPO, its Chairman Naresh Goyal said Jet Airways continued to maintain leadership in domestic market with an estimated market share of 42.9 per cent during 2004-2005.

Party leader Francois Hollande has called for party unity before it publishes its stance, but Fabius is apparently jockeying to position himself as the party's candidate for the 2007 presidential elections, the newspaper said.
For next year's national referendum on the EU constitution, the Socialist party reportedly was posturing to vote in favor, but Fabius has rocked the party with his threat, the newspaper said.
Former French Prime Minister Laurent Fabius is the second most senior member of the party, but has seized on public anger over the relocation of French factories to the European Union's new members.

HOUSTON, US: The USA Cricket Association are planning to host some matches of the 2007 Cricket World Cup which will be held in the West Indies, Secretary, USACA, Badar Rafaie said on Monday.
Rafaie, a former first-class player from Pakistan, said cricket was going to stay in America in the presence of large number of expatriates from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the West Indies, Australia and England.
He said keeping in view the growing popularity of the sport in the US, "we are considering Houston, Los Angeles, New York and Miami as the likely venues for the World Cup games." The ICC officials were keen to bring international cricket to the US, he added.
