Mission Impossible II is certainly not a classic, but as an entertaining blockbuster it does not disappoint.
Mission Impossible II is a typical John Woo film.

 Reviewed - Mission Impossible II
The original Mission Impossible was a serious older brother to the James Bond films, with the action and the women but without the one-liners, with a plot so obscure that not even cast and crew really knew what was going on.
Mission Impossible II is a great film that I would heartily recommend to anyone.
Mission Impossible II must surely be the most hyped-up film to come out since the Blair Witch Project.

Mission Impossible: Operation Surma for PS2 video game review and cheats
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma isn’t affected by either of these common problems as the genre is perfect for Mission Impossible and it’s not tied directly to a movie release but unfortunately still falls short in a number of key areas.
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma probably isn’t going to satisfy those who are looking for an in-depth stealth game requiring strategy and calculating maneuvers.
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma is an action based game where objectives are given and generally need to be accomplished without being detected.

FilmForce: Review of Mission: Impossible II
Mission: Impossible II doesn't fail due to lack of effort or passion but due to lack of vision and cohesion.
Mission: Impossible 2 (or, as the on-screen credits read, Mission: Impossible II) is the Lisa of this summer's movie crop.
Despite such criticisms, Mission: Impossible II is considerably more deft than Hard Target, Broken Arrow or Face Off, director John Woo 's previous American movies to date.

 Review: Mission: Impossible II
The soundtrack, which features a relentless Hans Zimmer score liberally sprinkled with a souped-up version of the "Mission: Impossible" theme, hammers the viewer's ears (mine were actually a little cottony when I left the theater).
In other hands, Mission: Impossible II might have been a run-of-the-mill action movie, but, emblazoned with Woo's trademark flourishes, the motion picture has been transformed into a high-energy, adrenaline-and-testosterone boosted ride.
Of course, the Impossible Missions Force (IMF) cannot allow this to happen, so their leader, M...

 MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2/ ***
"Mission: Impossible II" is not quite the equal of its predecessor -- Brian De Palma's 1996 adaptation of the hit TV show was a modern classic in action cinema -- but it is an effective spectacle of violence.
Set-pieces have been lifted from "Mission: Impossible" such as Cruise's dangling from a ceiling to steal information, as well as trademarks like the rubber-mask disguises, but nothing that stops "Mission: Impossible II" from being a one-man show.
And make no mistake about it, "Mission: Impossible II" is all about Cruise.

At-A-Glance Film Reviews: Mission: Impossible (1996)
Most of the original Mission: Impossible television series episodes were brilliantly constructed "sting" operations, skillfully executed by a team of top notch agents one could only admire for their professionalism, efficiency, expertise, and sheer ingenuity that enabled them to perform seemingly impossible tasks.
Mission: Impossible 's third strike is the filmmakers' blatant irresponsibility in handling the legendary screen characters of the original series.
It is impossible (pun intended) to acknowledge the series and the film as co-existing in the same universe.

 Movie (Metro Times Detroit)
Mission: Impossible II is full of the visual inventiveness and exuberant energy missing from last year’s The World is Not Enough.
All that remains in John Woo’s supercharged Mission: Impossible II is star-producer Tom Cruise, the always marvelous Ving Rhames, impossibly elaborate gadgetry and screenwriter Robert Towne, who has streamlined the globetrotting antics of the agents into a comprehensible (if still immensely fanciful) storyline.

 Mission: Impossible II
Mission: Impossible II ceases upon this fear, as former Impossible Mission team member Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) makes plans to steal the deadly Chimera virus and unleash it on the world.
Hunt is pointed in the direction of Hyah Hall (relative newcomer Thandie Newton), a skilled thief and former lover of the duplicitous Impossible Mission agent.
Mission: Impossible II does just that, pairing returning star Tom Cruise with internationally-acclaimed director John Woo to create an awesome visual feast.

Journal of Religion & Film: Mission: Impossible II Film Review by Robert Arjet
Mission: Impossible II has a lot to teach about the purpose of violence in action films, particularly in its relation to the ritualistic theme of scapegoating.
Mission: Impossible II leaves most of the gore behind (enough, apparently to earn a PG-13 rating despite the double-digit body count) and puts on a show of heterosexual romance.
Mission: Impossible II and at the heart of much "real-world" violence.

Video games are made by developers, sometimes individuals, but almost always a team consisting of designers, graphic designers and other artists, programmerss, sound designers, musicians, and other technicians.
Video games are very popular and the market has grown continuously since the end of the video game crash of 1983.
Some studies have shown that children who watch violent television shows and play violent video games have a tendency to act more aggressively on the playground, and some people are concerned that this aggression may presage violent behavior when children grow to adulthood.

Amazon.ca: DVD: Mission: Impossible II (Widescreen)
This year was no exception, as the eagerly anticipated Mission Impossible 2 opened to hordes of people wanting to see Tom Cruise dangling from a cliff and, of course, blowing a lot of stuff up.
Like so many sequels to action-movie hits, Mission: Impossible 2 achieves its visual thrills by ramping up the crisis and kinetic set pieces to cartoon proportions, resulting in a film that's exciting if totally unbelievable.
The extras on the DVD, may be more plentifull here, as opposed to those found on the Mission Impossible disc, but that doesn't mean that they are all worth your time.

Qwipster's Movie Reviews - Mission: Impossible II
The Impossible Missions Force is entrusted to infiltrate the baddies hideout by hiring a former girlfriend to rekindle a past romance and get the plans from them.
This basically is just a continuation of the over-the-top stylings of it's director than an homage to the popular TV show of the 60s.
The plan is to release the virus on the unsuspecting public, and then to sell the antidote for an outrageous fortune.

At-A-Glance Film Reviews: Mission: Impossible II (2000)
While Mission: Impossible II is even less in the spirit of the original television show, at least it does not disgrace its memory.
Yet Mission: Impossible II is an awkward mismatch of things that don't work together.
Much of the rest of the film depends on the establishment of their mutual involvement with each other, but I never quite believed they cared for each other, or how they possibly could; the first act was too rushed to be convincing.

Mission Impossible 2 is a mess of a movie: nothing works, and the payoff is not worth it.
Mission Impossible 2, in no uncertain words, is an absolutely terrible movie.
I enjoyed Brian DePalma’s version of “Mission Impossible” because it was an intelligently balanced formula of gadgets, action, and an interesting cast.

The Internet Movie Critic - Mission Impossible II
Mission Impossible II is a well acted film with great cinematography.
Although the writer for this film is Bruce Geller, the creator of the TV series, Mission Impossible II does not hold true to the technique the IMF used on television.
In Mission Impossible II he has found a way to make the beginning of this film rather mundane.

Essential to the mission is the recruitment of a civilian -- a Miss Nyah Nordoff-Hall.
A moment where it's impossible to tell which way the wind is going to blow between these two.

Mission: Impossible II isn't really big, loud or exciting enough to be this year's big, loud, exciting film.
The original Mission: Impossible set-up has now been almost entirely abandoned, apart from the "this message will self-destruct" instruction.
Hunt's mission (borrowed from Hitchcock's Notorious) is to seduce Ambrose's ex-girlfriend (Newton) into setting him up.

 Mission Impossible 2
If you enjoyed the first Mission: Impossible starring Tom Cruise ( Magnolia) as Ethan Hunt, than you won't be disappointed.
I love these twists in the plot even though it was completely implausible to have made some of those switches into a mask, not to mention the time factor involved, but maybe that is why they call it mission impossible.
I also love director John Woo ( Face/Off), who is most noted for his wonderful action films, his latest, Mission Impossible II.

 Mission: Impossible II film review
This is a far cry from the old TV series where the Mission: Impossible team spends the majority of the show intricately setting up the villain and then ensnaring him to his doom in the end.
My one serious complaint is the lack of use of the Mission: Impossible theme.
Hunt is assigned to track down former IMF agent Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) who has stolen a virulent biologically engineered virus called Chimera and its antidote and now is selling it to the highest bidder to get filthy rich with stock options.

Mission Impossible II - the review (www.filmfreak.be)
A film of this nature is all too often dismissed as mindless fun, but you only have to look at any of the set-pieces in Mission Impossible 2 to know that a lot of thought and effort have gone into their creation.
This sequel to Mission Impossible has a different director (John Woo takes over from Brian De Palma) but retains the buzz offered by the fluid cinematic action and visceral thrills of the first film.
For people, like myself, who don't really care whether the narrative holds together amongst the spiralling car chases and cathartic action scenes, the plot of this blockbuster, involving a megalomaniac who wants to hold the world to ransom with the possession of a deadly virus and its antidote, can be taken at face value.

Face/Off sounds more preposterous than it plays; I had an easier time swallowing its concept than I did any portion of Woo's latest, Mission: Impossible II (henceforth M:I-2).
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sift through the M:I-2 disc's enjoyable supps, beginning with Woo's breathless commentary, a two-hour testament to his soft side (be prepared to hear the term "love story" again and again).
