	Rebuilding Honduras through Courage and Tenacity
		This month, five years after Mitch, I returned to see how poor communities in Honduras are faring and how CARE is contributing to their struggle for a better life.
		When Mitch came, the floodwaters swamped her mud-brick house, and she and her family escaped by boat and spent 10 days without shelter.
		I saw the ruins right after Mitch, and the broken walls, ramshackle roof, and rusted remains of equipment were still lying by the debris-littered riverbank.

		Hurricane Mitch swept through Central America in October 1998, killing some 10,000 people and leaving a path of devastation in countries already struggling economically.
