	Miyoshi Umeki - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Miyoshi Umeki (born on April 3, 1929 in Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan) is an actress.
		Umeki began her career as a nightclub singer in Japan before moving to the United States.
		Umeki ran school of dance in North Hollywood from the 1970's to 1990's.

	Intelliflix: Rent Sayonara on DVD
		Shot in Technicolor on location in Japan, the film is gorgeous to look at, and Brando's work is skillfully nuanced, as his character's outlook gradually evolves from intolerance to enlightenment through the love of a woman.
		Red Buttons, playing Brando's best friend, and Miyoshi Umeki as his lover won Oscars for their touching, heartfelt performances as the doomed couple.
		One final note, which is probably THE saddest of all concerns Miyoshi Umeki who won a best supporting actress for this film.

As such, the differences between the original Broadway cast album and the original motion picture soundtrack have to do with casting and orchestrations.
		Rodgers & Hammerstein did not hesitate to use voice doubles for the movie actors, as they had in previous efforts.
