Miyu is one of the greatest examples of this implied conceit, never bothered by the constant struggle of clichéd peculiarities like "garlic", "crosses" or even cloying rays of sunlight.
But it's Miyu's fate to become a vampire, she is drawn to the temptation of human blood, as well as the prowess to bestow immortality's eternal sorrow.
Miyu's character is both modest & taunting, she explains to the world that she cannot hope to redeem what's irreparably done; but accepts the solitude of sheer admission.

AAW: Vampire Princess Miyu TV Series Review
Vampire Princess Miyu is a shoujo series at its heart, which means that the focus of the stories are as much on the emotional interaction of the characters as on blood, gore, and battles, though none of those are lacking.
Even Miyu's past and her relationship to the Shinma and the other ongoing characters are only explained in bits and pieces of conversation and brief flashbacks throughout the series, leaving the viewer to piece together much of what is going on.
The one exception was Dorothy Elias Fahn as Miyu; she sounded a bit on the old side, and although her character was supposed to be short on emotion (and the Japanese version usually sounded somewhat distant), the English version was just too dry, coming across as stiff and sort of sleepy sounding.
