The Moanalua Dog Park is located next to the tennis and basketball courts in the Moanalua Community Park, situated between the Moanalua Freeway and Puuloa Road, off Mahiole Street.
Moanalua Dog Park is a City and County park, so poop bags are not supplied as they are at the privately-run dog parks (McInerny Park and the Bark Park).

The 136 units built during Phase II of the Moanalua Terrace project included solar systems in their specifications, so the Navy was able to take advantage of the $1,500 per system HECO rebate for approved solar water heaters in new construction.
At Moanalua, including the 516 homes now under construction in Phases III and IV and the 100 homes in Phase I that have been retrofitted, this translates to 752 families using solar systems to heat their water.
At Moanalua, the solar water heaters' life-cycle costs are lower than those of either a conventional electric water heater or a heat pump, and, after the payback period, the solar system continues to produce hot water for only the cost of maintenance.

As a relative green horn, I ventured into Moanalua Valley alone on a Sunday in late 1996 (I can't find my hiking calendar for that year, thus the lack of a specific date) going on verbal info provided by Stuart Ball.
It was a beautiful winter day, clear summits due to variable winds, but I got off to a late start (10 a.m.) and wore short pants (my white short shorts - only one person on this list knows what I'm refering to!) without gators.
The Ko'olau summit ridge between the Moanalua Valley saddle and Halawa Ridge terminus took 3.5 hours for me to complete, characterized by atleast two eroded, very narrow segments, but the steep climb to the terminus of Red Hill Ridge was not cable steep.
