Mobilivre volunteer Melanie Turner said that the Bookmobile stops at many universities, libraries, art galleries, community centers and independent bookstores.
Most of the Mobilivre project’s funding is generated through outside fundraising; the project puts on punk concerts with Canadian bands like Hanged Up and Pony Up, Turner said.
By donating to the Mobilivre project, artists are able to distribute their work throughout the entire nation.

 Concordia's Thursday Report
Since 2001, Project Mobilivre and its dedicated group of volunteers (pictured at right) have travelled across the United States and Canada in their vintage Silver Airstream trailer, promoting and displaying the works of artists, activists, and writers to a variety of communities.
Project Mobilivre travels with a selection of books in three basic categories, said Leila Pourtavaf, a member of the Mobilivre team.
The Project Mobilivre trailer is currently touring in the United States, but will be arriving in Montreal at the Concordia campuses on Oct. 15 and 16.

For three years now, Mobilivre has brought more than 300 independent-media works to small towns and big cities via their 26-foot vintage Airstream trailer.
Though selections are juried, Mobilivre's overall content is determined by trends in submitted material.
Before Mobilivre's inaugural tour, the collective also had to deal with the thorny issues of fund raising (they failed to get any of the grants they applied for that first year) and promotion (the group has often relied on their punk-activist following to help get the word out).

There are lots of things I want to do more of in this blog, and announcing bookish and literary events is one of those.
I can at least do a tiny bit of that today by telling you all about Project Mobilivre, a joint effort by volunteers in Montreal and Philadelphia to bring artist-designed print objects to people around the continent.
Project Mobilivre is housed in a funky-looking but carefully restored and revamped Airstream trailer that is a riff on the bookmobile tradition.

It's an airstream trailer converted to house one of a kind books and zines that travels throughout North America to display these books.
