  Mobius Band
After three years of wood-shedding in the pine forests of Shutesbury, Massachusetts, electronic rock trio Mobius Band has traded up: from shoe-string home recording to Peter Katis’s Tarquin Studios (Interpol, Rainer Maria); from rural Massachusetts to Brooklyn (two-thirds of the band anyway); and from their own label to Ghostly International.
These changes follow the band’s gradual evolution over the course of three self-released EPs, from exploratory composers of instrumental suites to crafters of gracefully intricate pop gems.
Mobius Band debuted on Ghostly with the critically-acclaimed City Vs Country EP in spring 2005, preceding their debut full-length The Loving Sounds of Static in August.

Long found that the alternative recycling symbol was based on a different surface—a one-sided band formed by gluing together the two ends of a long strip of paper after giving one end three half-twists instead of just one.
In general, all bands with an odd number of half-twists (and their mirror images) are, roughly speaking, one-sided surfaces.
Topologists generally apply the term "Möbius band" not only to the standard form (one half-twist) but also to the symmetric version (three half-twists) and anything else "homeomorphic" to the standard form.

I caught the Mobius Band opening for Hood and Surface of Eceon about nine months ago, and this is pretty much exactly what happened.

Shuttesbury, Massachusetts natives The Mobius Band seem to enjoy playing with synths, though they don't put their fascination to use to alter the sonic landscape.
In the band's defense, Peter Katis, of Turn on the Bright Lights and "removing color from music" fame, was brought in to produce this album.
Judging by the lyrics, the band may have wanted at least an element of the detached on the record, but the flat instrumental production that the predictable Katis gleam makes for an album in which the listener is left waiting for something to happen.

There is an annoying tendency amongst indie bands these days to rush-release an incomplete full-length album, when what is really warranted is series of thoroughly-developed EPs or singles.
The Loving Sound of Static is a perfect example of such an album, as Mobius Band pad out a number of carefully composed, charming electro tunes with bland, instantly forgettable filler tracks.

While the sound that Mobius plays to could easily be thrown into Interpol territory, they gracefully escape this by throwing elements of electronics and noise into songs, weaving in and out (notably the electronic percussion throughout the album).
Instead of throwing their noisy guitars to the forefront of the sound, Mobius puts the percussion first, almost forcing the listener to take notice, and the almost monotone vocals sit nicely on the surface of it all.
Elements of several post-punk bands come to mind (notably Kitchens of Distinctions and Disintegration era Cure) but Mobius textures their sound, giving it a splendid originality all its own.

While you are doing all this, you may need to count the number of twists in a band before or after you cut it.
We know this because the line that we drew on the single side of the mobius strip is still on the doubly twisted mobius paint strip.
Some people have trouble remembering this when they deal with mobius strips made of paper, but they can visualize the the mobius strip made of the empty space between the two bands getting thinner and thinner without limit.

Your question is an interesting one for I first read about the odd attributes of Mobius strips when I was in highschool way back in the 1940s in a now famous paperback book by George Gamow titled "One, Two, Three Infinity".
It seems that dozens of people use Mobius strips to questionably (at least to me) describe complex issues beyond the scope of science and mathematics.
The Mobius twist between the rings is located at the X in the drawing.
