The Delicate Art of Parking - a Movie View review by Ryan Cracknell
Believability is key to a mocumentary because it's trying to create a sense of reality that although fictional, could exist in the real world outside the film.
There's the mocumentary about the life of parking attendants, which is the one on the surface.
And even though the 'filmmakers' make themselves a part of the narrative within the mocumentary, there's still a movie within a movie that's very much aware of itself.

Several hit movies have subsequently adopted a mocumentary approach, including many films of the eighties and nineties such as This is Spinal Tap, Bob Roberts and the cult horror movie The Blair Witch Project.
The word jockumentary was coined from a blend of documentary and the North American slang word jock, which from the mid twentieth century has been used to refer to a person who is extremely enthusiastic about and good at sport, especially a young athlete.
The success of mocumentaries like BBC TV's The Office is largely attributable to the widespread acceptance during recent years of reality TV as a broadcasting genre.

Following Adrian Martinez on his quest to arrange a mail-order bride and the perils that follow, things become complicated as Martinez begins to abuse his randomly selected bride Lichi (Eugenina Yuan), and the film's co-director Andrew Gurland becomes personally involved.
The acting, though, is completely believable, and, if not for a few moments, the line between documentary and mocumentary would have been completely blurred.
