		A model figure is a scale model that represents a person, either a generic figure of a type (such as "World War II Luftwaffe pilot"), a historical personage (such as "King Henry VIII"), or a fictional character (such as "Conan").
		Model figures are sold both as kits for the enthusiast to construct and paint and as pre-built, pre-painted collectable figurines.
		Model kits may be made in plastic (usually polystyrene), resin, or metal (including white metal); collectables are usually made of plastic, porcelain, or (rarely) bronze.

		Figures add a sense of interest to model ships, giving a scale comparison for those who do not realize how large a battleship was, or how tiny a PT boat truly was.
		Until now, the only options for figures in the ever popular 1/350th scale range have been either etched brass two-dimensional, a very elusive set of plastic figures from Preiser (which is expensive at $13+ for only 5 crewmen), and some white metal war gaming miniatures in 3mm scale.
		I ordered two sets of these figures, for a total of 100 little guys, and there is only one of that lot that has a short cast leg.

		If you name your model with crew for instance "HMS Victory", in my opinion it would be a ship; but to see it as a diorama, you had better name it "bracing the sails on board HMS Victory.
		Conclusion: figures are OK, as long as their quality matches that of the ship.
