 Model-Driven Architecture (MDA)
Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) is an approach to software development produced and maintained by the Object Management Group (OMG), an open membership, not-for-profit consortium that produces and maintains computer industry specifications for interoperable enterprise applications.
MDA is not to be confused with Model-Driven Development (MDD), also known as Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD).
It is important to have more studies that use experimentation, such as through the use of model problems, that focus on gathering data to support or refute the benefits associated to MDA and help close the gap between what is expected of the technology and what it does in its current status.

Since their models are hidden, these services and facilities have received neither the recognition nor the widespread implementation and use that they deserve outside of the CORBA environment, especially considering the quality of their underlying models.
If all three functions start out as UML models in the MDA, we may eventually be able to generate a significant portion of the implementation for each on its preferred platform, as well as the bridges we need to integrate each of the facilities with the other two.
When the model is mapped to a particular platform, developers will use their development tools of choice to generate code (or dynamically invoke it) that makes calls to the native services of those platforms.

Employ MDA's core modeling techniques to separate architecture from implementation and extend the shelf life of distributed applications.'] "One software development error that has long-term ramifications, especially for large distributed applications, is that the application architecture is often written with a specific hardware and operating system set in mind.
In the MDA, this platform-independent base model is used to generate equivalent versions of the standard on one or several middleware platforms, as needed by the industry that uses it.
The Common Information Model (CIM), which models concepts related to the management of technological assets, is expressed in a UML that would probably be entirely alien to most developers, and this flexibility of UML is what the OMG uses to justify its being the language of the most abstract modeling under the MDA.

Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is an approach that separates a system's desired functions from its implementation on a specific technology platform, resulting in an architecture that is not tied to any one language, platform, or vendor.
It naturally follows that a model driven architecture is one where the architecture of the system is derived from the model of the system.
The chief advantage of the model driven architecture approach is that the architecture of the system is derived from the model of the system.
