	Modern world - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The modern age may be defined to extend to the present day, or else to conclude postmodernism (which may be dated any time from the 1960s to the early 1980s), again depending on the usage.
		In the case where modern is used in a sense which means "before postmodernism", it may refer specifically to modernism.
		Modern art is typified by self-awareness, and by the manipulation of form or medium as an integral part of the work itself.

		History is a large and busy School, comprising what were formerly separate departments of Modern History and Economic History, together with specialists in Ancient History who maintain their own distinct degree pathway.
		The School of History includes among its staff leading authorities on a wide range of periods and subjects, from the ancient world to the twentieth century and including African, American and continental European history, with particular strengths in the histories of Britain and Ireland and the history of religion.

		Benito Mussolini (1883-1945) over the course of his lifetime went from Socialism - he was editor of Avanti, a socialist newspaper - to the leadership of a new political movement called "fascism" [after "fasces", the symbol of bound sticks used a totem of power in ancient Rome].

		This interactive timeline is a chronological, geographical, and thematic exploration of the history of art from around the world, as illustrated by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection.
		They began with the premise that the texts of the period could not be taught successfully without a working knowledge of the religions beliefs and controversies of the period and an array of strategies for bringing that material to life in the classroom.

	Modern History
		Modernism in Modern Greek Theatre (1895-1922) by Walter Puchner.
		A little weak on Minoan history this book is, however, excellent for all the intervening years including Roman, Arab, Venetian and Turkish Rule, autonomy and unification with Greece in 1913.
		A Subject by subject look at various aspects of Greek life and history, includes art, the economy, the Greek church etc. and is packed with useful information such as ex-presidents and Kings of Greece.
