On 23 July 2005, Mohamed El-Moutaouakil was charged on various counts related to participating in and inciting violent protest activities and belonging to an unauthorized association by the Crown Public Prosecutor of Laayoune.

 Mohamed Elmoutaoikil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mohamed Elmoutaoikil (also transliterated as Mohammad al-Mutawakil, etc) is a Sahrawi human rights-defender active in Western Sahara, born in 1966 in Assa in southern Morocco.
On December 14, 2005, Elmoutaoikil was sentenced to 10 months in prison by a Moroccan court in El-Aaiun, in a mass trial with 13 other Sahrawi activists.
After the trial, Amnesty reiterated strong criticisms, and said that it was strengthened in its claim that Elmoutaoikil and the others is a probable prisoners of conscience.

The Sahrawi citizen, Mohamed Lhmaidi, arrested during the uprising that took place in Boujdour on Thursday, October 13, 2005, was put in the Black Prison in El Ayun after being presented to the prosecuter on Friday, October 14, 2005 in El Ayun.
The prisoner Boulmaaiz Mohamed is now put in an individual cell and is subjected to psychological and physical torture such as beating, insult and inhuman treatment by the guards and administration of the prison.

On July 20, 2005, the Moroccan authorities burst into the house of the Sahrawi human rights activist, former political prisoner and forcibly deportee to Morocco,, Mohamed Elmoutaoikil, at six o'clock GMT, arrested him together with the Sahrawi rights activist and former disappeared, Fdaili Gaoudi by a group of eight security agents from Casablanca, Morocco.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Elmoutaoikil, was subjected to hard interrogations for more than 12 hours in the Judicial Police center in El Ayun supervised by the Wali of Security in El Ayun, Brahim Bensami, and a group of secret service members who had already interrogated the Sahrawi activists, Fdaili Gaoudi and Larbi Massoud without torturing them.
On July 23, 2005, the five activists were taken to the court of appeal without having a look at their "proces verbales" and they did not even know their accusations except the Sahrawi activist, Fdaili Gaoudi who signed his "proces verbales" after reading it.
