In the News (Sat 28 Nov 09)

  Encyclopedia: Mojo (magazine)
Mojo is a popular music magazine published monthly in the United Kingdom.
Following the success of Q magazine, publishers Emap were looking for a title which would cater for the burgeoning interest in classic rock music.
Mojo was first published in October 1994 and in keeping with its aesthetic had Bob Dylan and John Lennon as its first cover stars.

Mojo: The Record Mirror said you were "excellent and extremely exciting", but "couldn't help thinking how dangerous this sort of free-form thing could be in the hands of not such good musicians".
Mojo: So you were moving into a new phase, but it was a few months after that when you did a big package tour with Hendrix, The Move, The Nice and several other bands.

Dave Henderson, MD of Emap Performance Rock, said: “Mojo has become the magazine that everyone who’s picked up a plectrum wants to be part of and their reverence to legends and icons as featured in the pages of the magazine is well known.
Mojo magazine is available in 60 countries worldwide and in just a decade has become synonymous with cool, contemporary and classic music, sumptuous presentation and unmatched writing.

 Notherby's :: Mojo
Also, since this is imported from the UK (would it really but their balls to have a US publishing outlet like a majority of magazines out there?) you not only pay a hefty price for it, it is hit or miss that you end up with the included CD that comes with it.
The thing I like best about Mojo is that each issue comes with a CD featuring various artists doing whatever type of music that is the focus of the month's lead article.
You might get a better deal on the magazine than is offered here if you go to the bookstore, find the magazine, and look for an insert bearing a special offer.

 Amazon.com: Uncut [MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION]: Magazine Subscriptions   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
Each magazine is about as big as a small book too, and of them I'd read a good 80% of the magazine too (Even finding myself reading some articles about artists I could care less about, because the articles were so well written), but the price is way too high to subscribe.
Rolling Stone is nowhere close to being as good as Uncut, and although Mojo and Q are strong, they can't hold the candle to it either.
THe only blemish on the magazine itself (for all you who might want to buy a single issue) is that the covers tend to repeat every 3-4 months, and I mean how much Beatles can I read (and I'm in the upper 5% of Beatle freaks out there).
