		Mokanna Lodge #329 was founded in 1958 as a U.D. Lodge and was Chartered in 1959 by The Grand Lodge of Florida.
		Mokanna Lodge #329 is currently located in the building pictured above which was built and completed in 1978, and is geographically located in the north-west section of Orlando.
		Mokanna Lodge is very active within it's community, which includes the "Proud"17th Masonic District and it currently has a membership of over 500 Masons.

	Daughters of Mokanna
		In March of 2000, the decision was made to formalize a local "Daughters of Mokanna", which is the national official women's organization affiliated with the grotto.
		The Charter was presented to Grace in Canton, OH at the Supreme Session in September.
		The main goals of El Jaala Daughters of Mokanna are to provide a social meeting place for the ladies of El Jaala Grotto, to support the programs of El Jaala Grotto and the Grotto Supreme Council, and to support masonic programs, facilities, and charities.

		MOKANNA (al-Moqanna', the Veiled), the name given to Hakim, or 'Ata, a man of unknown parentage, originally a fuller in Merv, who posed as an incarnation of Deity, and headed a revolt in Khorasan against the caliph Mandi.
		For about three years he sustained himself in the field against the troops of the caliph and for two years longer in his fortress of Sanam; then, reduced to straits in 779, he and his followers took poison and set fire to the fortress.
