Molly attended Saint Dominic's in Shaker Heights,a Catholic grade school that inspired her future career in acting (and her recurring character Mary Katherine Gallagher on SNL).
Shannon's major break came in February1995 when she was hired as a featured player on Saturday Night Live to replace Janeane Garofalo after Garofalo left mid-season.
Shannon was one of the few castmembers to be kept when Lorne Michaels overhauled his cast for season 21 after season 20 proved to be a critical and ratings disappointment (along with David Spade, Norm MacDonald, Mark McKinney, and Tim Meadows).

There is the NPR radio sketch with Alec Baldwin and his Schweaty Balls, and one of my favorite sketches with Will Ferrell and MollyShannon having a blind date in an airport bar.
Of course there are some of Shannon's recurring characters like 50 year old Sally O'Malley, Joyologist Helen Madden and two Mary Katherine Gallagher sketches.
So overall I'm not sure I would recommend buying this one, unless you are a huge MollyShannon fan or an SNL completist.

Disclaimer: Yes, I know it's actually spelled "Mary Katherine Gallagher" but after having a hard time finding a Mary Catherine name that wasn't already taken (it seems like there's a site or username for every spelling there is!), I decided to go with my own spelling.
Also, I'm in no way affiliated with Saturday Night Live or MollyShannon.
I just laugh everytime I see MCG (or MKG if you're picky), so I'm hoping this site will bring a little smile to you as well.
