Moloko (молокó) is also the Russian word for milk.
Moloko is an electronic/pop group from Sheffield, England, consisting of Róisín Murphy and Mark Brydon.
In addition to her work with Moloko, Murphy has contributed her vocals to the works of other artists including Handsome Boy Modeling School and she returned the favor to Dlugosch by singing on his track "Never Enough," which became a huge club hit, hitting the top three of the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart.

BBC - Dance Review - Moloko, Statues
One of the things that sets Moloko apart from other dance duos is their handling of instrumentation, often with simply structured songs renewing themselves time and time again, as they find new ways to say the same thing.
Moloko never fail to come up with music which is catchy, upbeat and downright foot tappingly good.

Moloko's 1995 debut album was released after they had already recorded two singles, ""Where Is The What If The What Is The Why"" and ""Fe Fi Fo Fun For Me"", which both impressed with their cultured electro-pop textures and weird lyrical narratives.
Moloko followed with a big second album, before the duo enjoyed a surprise UK Top 5 hit single in August 1999 with the highly catchy club favourite, ""Sing It Back"".

Statues may surprise Moloko fans pulled in by 2000's Things to Make and Do as this is no cheesy attempt to cash in on the Ibizian success of "Sing It Back" and "The Time is Now".
Moloko are the kind of band who make me worried every time I listen to them.
Later, Statues (probably the most melancholy Moloko tune ever) laments with the fantastic lyric "If all the statues in the world would turn to flesh with teeth of pearl, would they be kind enough to comfort me?".

Moloko's success (much like their contemporaries Bent) has been that they've always stood on the razor-thin line that can't quite separate beuatifully sublime art and shameless kitsch.

Here the "back to mine" addage seems to be firmly with partying in mind and little hint at chilling, but then these albums have a responsibility to produce new takes on famous tunes while maintianing the essence of the band at the heart of the tracks.
Moloko were never about chilling and more about wry, witty, high octane performance.
I think a lot of mixers have missed the point with some of Moloko's key tracks, but this mix and Francois K's blissed out "Time is Now" mix (along with his interpretation of "Forever More's" groove) are among some of the better and less common efforts.

It was indeed going alright: a valedictory celebration to mark the finale of a tour that's created a whole new vibe - not to mention an expanded live audience - for the Sheffield-based duo.
Surprisingly, Statues (the title of their most recent album) marked the band's first full production tour, the decision to 'go for it' taken by Peacock and Moloko in the light of a cooling-off in press support after the heady days of 'Sing It Back' and their other dancefloor monster, 'The Time is Now'.

Having overcome initial failures, avoided the trap of disappearing after a massive dance hit and built their sound to one that's immediately recognisable, but never predictable, they've become a band that can always be expected to make undeniably great music.
