The river is higher up the banks now and there are no more beaches of sand to lunch on so we pick a likely spot on the right bank, hot as buggery and a little shade.
It is the worry of the low river, the recalcitrant fridge, the 36 degrees every day, the pumping and filtering of 6 litres of water every day, washing in a muddy river with things which nip you in unexpected places causing instant levitation and a shriek.
On the NSW side of the river is Euston which is older but seems to be in decline whereas Robinvale is growing rapidly due to irrigation of grapes and the largest almond plantation in the western spiral arm.

The Cotter River catchment was the first to be developed and is part of the Namadgi National Park.
The Queanbeyan River catchment was developed on the Queanbeyan River in NSW.

Really love this one, the Molonglo River is just so picturesque and you have so many awesome shots here that it is impossible to pick favourites.
That river is a great foreground for any photo and you have found the way of using it to your advantage.

The process includes physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes before the water is discharged into the Molonglo River.
Extensive monitoring is undertaken to ensure water quality, and ecological monitoring, such as the Fish Monitoring Program, provides information on the river's health.
Platypus are often seen near where the treated water re-enters the Molonglo River, and have been known to visit the plant!

David Bryant is researching an ecotoxicology study on the Latrobe river, a collaborative project between WSL Aquatic Ecology, the Key Centre for Applied and Nutritional Toxicology at RMIT and the Department of Biological Sciences, Monash University.
Scientific publications for a whole catchment are 'tagged' to all the rivers, creeks and wetlands in the catchment.
What is unknown is the effect of these high levels of heavy metals on aquatic biota in the river and the AMR has provided funds to Paul Ashley and Andrew Boulton to explore the severity of this issue.

Opposition to the development of Australia's arid zone rivers reached a new peak this week, when a group of 130 Scientists, pastoralists government and non government representatives joined forces to stop irrigation on the Paroo River in Western Queensland.
Both oppose any extraction of water from the river but perhaps the most significant development to emerge from the conference is the plan to form a national landholder body to voice concerns about the impacts of iirrigation.

Canberra managed to avert a major sewage crisis today after residents were urged to restrain their use of the sewerage system.
The city's main sewerage treatment plant was badly damaged by the bushfires and there were fears raw sewage might flow into the Molonglo River, which feeds directly into the Murrumbidgee River.
ACT territory controller John Murray said water had been restored to most suburbs but those hit worst by Saturday's blazes needed to boil water for drinking.

The Australian Wakeboard Association today named Tige Boats the Official Towboat for the Australian Wakeboard National Championships being held from the 11th to 13th of April in Canberra ACT.
The Nationals culminate as the highlight of the Australian season and attract a large crowd to the banks of the Molongolo River to see who will be crowned Australian Wakeboard Champion for 2003.
The Tige 2003 20v Riders Edition, fitted with Tige's Patented TAPS wake adjustment system, will be used to tow the event.
