 Sea Exploration, Sea Exploration Information
Deep Sea Exploration is investigation of physical, chemical, and biological conditions at the bottom of the ocean, for scientific and commercial purposes.
Modern scientific study of the deep sea can be said to have begun when the French scientist Pierre Simon de Laplace calculated the average depth of the Atlantic Ocean from tidal motions registered on the Brazilian and African coasts.
The first instrument used for the investigation of the sea bottom was the sounding weight, with which British explorer Sir James Clark Ross reached a depth of 3700 m (12,140 ft) in 1840.

Sea, the Molten, Sea, the Brazen - International Standard Bible Encyclopedia
This was a large brazen (bronze) reservoir for water which stood in the court of Solomon's Temple between the altar and the temple porch, toward the South (1 Kings 7:23-26; 2 Chronicles 4:2-5,10).
The "sea" served its purpose till the time of Ahaz, who took away the brazen oxen, and placed, the sea upon a pavement (2 Kings 16:17).
The sea itself shared the same fate, being first broken to pieces (2 Kings 25:13,16).

 Biblical Value of Pi
The aforementioned scripture states that the molten sea was “ten cubits from brim to brim” and “a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about;” thus, its diameter was 10 cubits, and its circumference 30 cubits.
First, the Bible says that the molten sea was “ten cubits from brim to brim.” This logically would be from the very edge of the rim on one side to the very farthest point on the opposite side.
When we realize that this molten sea has a thickness associated with it, the 10 cubits from brim to brim becomes the outer diameter, while the 30-cubit measurement describes the inner circumference.

From the ages of the sea floor and the scale of the model, which is the same in the vertical and horizontal directions, one can determine that the plate in this model is being subducted at a rate of about 50 km/my.

The diameter is given as 10 cubits from brim to brim, and the circumference as 30 cubits.
Since the molten sea was round with a diameter of 10 cubits and a circumference of 30 cubits, this appears to make the value of pi exactly 3.
He based his calculations on the wrong text, used highly fanciful numerology to correct the plain words of the biblical text, and used a method that was not even in existence when the original biblical text was written.

Problem: There are further scientific difficulties in the Bible, In one of the Books of Kings, there is a reference to a "molten sea" with a diameter of ten cubits and a circumference of thirty cubits.
The missing element that solves the problem is in verse 26, the thickness of the “molten sea.” 10 cubits measured from the outside of the sea would have been 180 inches.

Perhaps the most familiar passage is 1 Kings 7:23 which, in the King James Version states, "And [Solomon] made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about".
In this particular case, the statement, "it was round all about" and the fact that only a single diameter is quoted, both are strong evidence that the intended object was circular or of constant diameter.
If it suffices to describe the length, height and breadth of the molten altar then there is no reason to give breadth, height and compass of the molten sea, except perhaps if "round all about" implies that the sea was a hemisphere.
