The Holden Republic: Monarchist Infighting: Some thoughts   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
As Conal McPhillips said in his 'Final Word' on the debate, it seems that the Monarchist League relies only on its very own 'dogmatic conservatism' to justify the continuation of the Monarchy.
In this sense, the Monarchist League is actually a Royalist orgainisation, that is, believers in Monarchy above all else, irrespective of their democractic (or other) principles.
Irrespective, I think (or maybe hope) that most Monarchists are more pragmatic, or perhaps realist in their thinking - they support the monarchy because they believe that it fundamentally protects the very democracy and liberties we supposedly take for granted.
