Monk's water of choice was mentioned earlier, but the finding of the actual spring came out of nowhere and left with missed payoffs.
The sierra springs drinking scene bothered me as well because you would figure that monk would be able to deduce that they were lying to him, but he has shown before (i believe in the mexico episode) that he doesn't operate well when he is in unfriendly situations.
The parts where Monk talks in a really phony Spanish accent to attempt to conceal his voice as that of the guy who reported Large Marge and got her fired and him attempting to bribe Natalie's daughter to not have to pee were pretty funny.

Monk, who is also afraid of heights, enclosed spaces and milk, will test his mettle this summer in Mexico and at the circus, while also investigating the apparent murder of the world's oldest man.
While "Monk" is not known for its subtleties (Adrian Monk once fished his keys out of an open coffin during a funeral), Hoberman gives Shalhoub's understated performance a lot of the credit for the success of the series.
Monk may be the most unusual cop on television, but Shalhoub said viewers still relate to the character enough to keep tuning in.
