Monmouth is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
Originally the constituency covered the entire of the county of Monmouth, except for the Monmouth Boroughs of Monmouth, Newport and Usk.
The Representation of the People Act 1918 redefined the constituencies so that the county constituency was based on the administrative county, returning five members (Abertillery, Bedwellty, Ebbw Vale, Monmouth and Pontypool) and a new Newport constituency was formed from the county borough of Newport, returning one member.
