It was reorganized as the Monmouth County Heritage Committee in February 1977, with Goodfellow as chair.

A very large, lengthy and bloody battle, it was at Monmouth that General George Washington relieved Major General Charles Lee of his command.

Thousands of tax payer dollars have been taken from a state department that is in financial trouble, and been thrown away on deer killing.

In early 2003, the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield approached the firm Schoor DePalma—because of a longtime friendship with company Chairman and CEO Stephen DePalma—for help in creating a map to be displayed at the 225-year anniversary celebration.
This request produced one of the most interesting aspects of the map—and a technique that is frequently used in historical war maps—which is the integration of a hillshading effect to show relief and elevations of mountains and hills.

BRAVO (Battlefield Restoration and Archaeological Volunteer Organ-ization) has invited as its guest of honor the New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH) to witness the unveiling of two wayside exhibits.
Through battlefield archaeology, not only has the actual spring been located, but also the approximate location of the cannon that Molly manned has been found, according to the press release.
Thanks to the council's grant, BRAVO was able to purchase two wayside exhibits that detail the role of the artillery at the battle and events that occurred at that site during the Battle of Monmouth on June 28, 1778.
